Serendip's AMY GASPARD is headed toward stardom!

Amy Gaspard, whose elegant beaded flowers, hair accessories, and wire & bead bonsai are featured at Serendip, has been declared a finalist in the Fire Mountain Gems 2009 Beading Contest! Amy submitted her ethereal crystal cherry tree to the contest. She was recently notified that she is a finalist, so shipped the actual art to Oregon to be judged in person for the second round.

The tree is formed from brown-colored copper wire, seed beads, and about 110 Swarovski crystal flowers. It's mounted on a sheet-moss covered 3 pound rock and sits in a display dome. A photo barely does justice to her meticulous work; from the complex yet elegant root system to the gently turned tree trunk, to the intricate branches touched by glimmering crystals that sparkle in the least light...

Let's all give a quick finger-cross to send our support to Amy for her unique and elegant artwork, and help the judges at Fire Mountain realize what we already know-- this art is definitely award-worthy!!
