SERENDIPITOUS HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS!

There are some very special events coming up at Serendip that are sure to make your holiday season one to remember!

Powell Night Out is December 1 from 5-8pm. Evening shopping in downtown Powell will be brightened by luminaries, and will include special sales and discounts from a variety of merchants. Serendip will offer refreshments and free gifts with purchase.

Don't be surprised to find Santa Claus strolling around-- he loves to visit Powell!

Serendip's private Customer Appreciation Parties will be held Wednesday, December 7, and Thursday, December 8, from 7pm-10pm-- you're welcome either night, or both. The artists of Serendip invite their friends and special customers to stop by for wassail & wine, refreshments and gift drawings, some special discounts, and a terrific shopping experience. Barbara Crockett will provide the music, you'll have a chance to meet the artists, and everyone will provide the fun!

On December 10, from 10-12; Andrea Gorzitze will offer a last-minute-handmade-gift class. This basic-level class will teach you to knit a fabulous ruffle-scarf, ready to gift or keep for yourself! The class is $28 per person; Andrea will bring several yarn choices for an additional $10-$25/kit. Bring your knitting needles, or Andrea will have some to borrow. Knitting experience or NO experience is fine. Just call Serendip to pre-register.

MOVING FORWARD TO OUR NEW LOCATION!

Clean up and set up are nearly complete on the new, improved Market at Serendip. As of August 20, we'll be opening our doors at 36 N. Liberty! Built in the late 1890's, the site was originally a flour mill. It went through a number of transitions, including a day care center and a mortgage office. And after a few more changes, it will be the perfect backdrop for our eclectic collection of original art, upscale handcrafts, and unique accessories and decor.

The new site at Liberty Road has offered its own personal share of happy surprises-- including 10" oak beam construction secured by pegs, and an AUTHENTIC flour advertisement!

Along with a wide variety of beautiful items for your shopping pleasure, we'll be offering an extensive schedule of classes and events, and will have a dedicated classroom for all activities.

Even though we're changing locations, we won't be changing our commitment to the work of local artists, or our mission to bring a serendipitious shopping experience to all of our customers. Plan to come in and see us!

SUCCESS AND A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL

Wow! The craft supply rummage sale was a great success. Some of us cleared out our unused craft supplies; some of us got some terrific beads, paper arts, buttons, rubber stamps, etc; and some of us simply exchanged our own old cool stuff for someone else's new cool stuff!! Thanks to everyone who participated in this event-- we're already thinking about a repeat later this year!

***REMEMBER!***

We have two classes coming up. Laura Neal will teach us to make our own beaded necklace and earring set on March 7. Then, March 31, Amy Ressa will help us make our own one-stroke painted wine glasses. Call or email to register for these!!

***BIG SALE***

For one week only, March 7 – 14, Laura Neal Designs will discount all her earrings -- $1 off each pair. Her glamourous beaded glassware will also be on sale, at $3 off each pair. Hurry in and buy everything you've been wanting!
